The National Iron & Steel Heritage Museum is located just 30 miles west of Philadelphia in Coatesville – “The Birthplace of the Industrial Revolution”. The museum celebrates the Life & Times of the “Woman of Steel”, Rebecca Lukens, the world’s first Woman Industrialist. The museum is located in the Lukens Historic District a National Register Historic Place with many historic buildings.
Current exhibits include the Iron & Steel workers memorial featuring “Trees” from the World Trade Center buit by Lukens Steel that survived the 911 Terrorist attack and were returned to Coatesville, as well as an exhibit of Steel Ship Building and the original Art of Klaus Grutzka.
